Privacy Guidelines

Your privacy is important to UpTag. Your personal information will never be rented, sold, or shared without your express permission. Any information you give us is only used to enhance our services and products.

We gather the information provided in the comments form, the visitor's IP address, and the user agent string from their browser when they leave comments on our site in order to assist in stopping spam.

You should refrain from uploading any photographs that have embedded location data (EXIF GPS) if you want to keep the website's security. Images on the website can be downloaded and used to extract geographic information.

You can choose whether or not to have your name, email address, and website saved in cookies whenever you leave a comment on our website. These are provided for your convenience so that you won't have to re-enter your information each time you post a remark. The shelf life of these cookies is one year.

If you go to our login page, we'll temporarily store a cookie to see if your browser permits them. This cookie is deleted when your browser is closed and does not contain any personal information.

We will also create a number of cookies when you log in to save your login details and screen display preferences. Screen option cookies last a year, whereas login cookies are only valid for two days. Choosing "Remember Me" will keep your login active for two weeks. The cookies for your login will be deleted after you log out of your account.

In your browser, a new cookie will be saved if you modify or publish an article. This cookie just contains the post ID of the article you just edited and contains no personal information. It runs out after a day.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager are used.

Embedded content from other websites

Content such as movies, photographs, articles, and other types of content may be embedded in the articles on this website. As if the visitor had actually visited the other website, embedded material from other websites acts just as it would.

These websites may gather information about you, employ cookies, incorporate extra third-party tracking, and keep track of how you engage with the embedded material, including tracking how you interact with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who do we share your information with?

Your IP address will be included in the password reset email if you ask for one.

How long do we keep your data?

If you post a comment, it and its associated metadata are kept forever. This allows us to recognize and approve any subsequent comments without having to hold them in a moderation queue.

We also keep the personal data users supply in their user profiles for those users who register with our website (if any). All users may access, update, or delete their personal information at any time with the exception of their username. Additionally, those details are viewable and editable by website administrators.

If you have written comments or have an account on this site, you may request to have an exported file of all your personal data that we hold, along with any data you have given us. A request to have any personal information we may have on you deleted is also an option. Data that we must maintain for administrative, legal, or security reasons is excluded from this.

Where do we send your data?

An automated service for spam detection may be used to review visitor comments.
